Is your company based in Denmark in Flex HRM? If so, you know that accurate payroll starts with the correct bank information. There is now a dedicated field for Danish bank account numbers in the employee master data in Flex HRM, designed to match the actual structure of Danish bank accounts. You can avoid complicated workarounds and trust that the information will be correct the moment you enter it.
A Dedicated Field for Danish Bank Account Numbers
Under the “Payroll of salary to” heading in the employee register, you’ll now find a field specifically designed for Danish bank account numbers. The field is divided into two parts, just as a Danish bank account is structured:
- Registration number – identifies the bank and branch, and functions in the same way as a Swedish clearing number. Enter up to four digits.
- Account number – the actual account number, with up to ten digits.
If the account number is shorter than ten digits, Flex HRM automatically pads it with zeros at the beginning. This ensures that the complete bank account number—known as the BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number)—always totals fourteen digits: the registration number and account number combined. This means you don’t have to keep track of the number of digits yourself or manually add zeros.
Instant verification as you enter the information
To ensure you can be confident that the information is correct, everything you enter is verified immediately:
- Both the registration number and the account number accept only digits.
- The registration number is checked against a list of Danish banks, so you can quickly see if the number you entered belongs to a valid bank.
- If something doesn’t match the format—for example, too many digits or the wrong type of character—you’ll immediately receive a clear error message.
This means you don’t have to wait until payday to discover that something went wrong. If the information is entered correctly, you’ll know right from the start that the conditions for a successful payment are in place.
Applies to you if your company is based in Denmark
The new field is available in all modules of Flex HRM, but only if your company is based in Denmark in Flex HRM. If your company is based in another country, you won’t notice any difference in the employee directory—the feature is fully tailored to your specific circumstances.
Accurate data from the start, less to keep track of
With a field designed to reflect how Danish bank accounts actually work—and which validates your information as you enter it—it becomes easier for you, as a payroll administrator, to trust that payments will go to the right accounts. You won’t have to keep track of the number of digits or leading zeros yourself, and can instead spend your time on what really needs your attention.
This feature is already available in Flex HRM. Is your company based in Denmark? Try the new field the next time you add or update an employee, under “Payroll Payment To.”
