Conducting a pay analysis requires a high degree of precision, and it can be challenging to keep track of all the details over time. To make things easier for those of you working with pay analysis, we’re now launching a comprehensive action plan for unjustified pay differences directly in Flex HRM. You can easily collect, track, and check off all actions in one place—and always have a clear view of what remains to be done.
Meeting the requirements of the Discrimination Act for an action plan and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks can be time-consuming. With the new action plan, Flex HRM brings all your identified actions together in one place. You no longer have to keep track of the information manually or in separate documents.
Comprehensive Overview
When you identify employees or positions that require a pay adjustment, Flex HRM automatically compiles these into an action plan.
Instead of having to go into each individual analysis to check what needs to be done, you’ll find a consolidated overview of all remaining actions directly in the “Pay equity navigator” menu option. Here, the system compiles all remaining items, regardless of whether they come from the most recent analysis or a previous one. This gives you confidence that the organization will address all identified unjustified pay differences within the legally mandated three-year period.
By using the filters in the view, you can customize the display to show only pending and unresolved items, while the system retains a complete history and traceability of what you’ve already completed.
How Action Marking Works in the Pay Analysis
You can manage actions at two different levels during your analysis:
Action for an individual employee
In an employee’s notes view, you’ll find the “Mark for Action” heading. Under this heading, you can choose between two predefined tags:
- Unjustified pay difference: Use this tag for individuals where you cannot objectively justify the pay difference.
- Belongs to the wrong work: Use this tag for individuals who are incorrectly classified.
You can select only one tag under the “Mark for Action” heading. However, if you are working under the “Reason for objective pay difference” heading, you can select multiple tags at the same time.
Action for an Entire Work
If your analysis reveals systematic errors or if you need to make a broader adjustment, you can flag an entire work for action.
Link to the action list
All individuals and jobs you mark are automatically added to the action list on the survey overview. If you choose to remove a marked tag from a work or an employee, the system removes the corresponding row from the action list. Since the row will be removed, Flex HRM always displays a warning asking you to confirm your selection before the change is implemented. We do this to ensure that you do not delete any data by mistake.
How to Mark an Action as Complete
All users with access to the Pay Equity Navigator view can check off and follow up on actions. Once you’ve completed an action, mark it as complete directly in the system.
If you change your mind or need to modify the information, open the edit box again. The button will then display the text “Unmark as completed.” When you click the button, the system makes all fields editable again.
