We are taking the next step in the development of our pay equity tool by launching the job architecture. This is a visual and structured matrix that serves as the backbone of your organization's pay structure and provides a crucial foundation for meeting the requirements of the upcoming Pay Transparency Directive.
Many have previously relied on fragmented Excel spreadsheets to try and evaluate and position roles against one another. We are now moving that work into Flex HRM, providing you with a visual structure to calibrate and maintain over time. The purpose is to create an objective order based on the actual content and complexity of the work, rather than titles or reporting lines. This first version is already available for you to explore.
Visualize your organization's unique structure
What you see in the system now is a first step toward gaining a clear matrix view of your organization's job functions, job families, and job profiles. The job profiles are the building blocks, and the goal is to capture work that is equal or of equal value, regardless of the specific position. By grouping these into job families and job functions, you get an overview that reflects the actual areas of expertise within the business rather than just the management structure.
We are continuously developing and expanding the view to provide even better support for your data-driven compensation planning. Upcoming features include the ability to see linked employees to track how the workforce is distributed across the architecture, as well as an in-depth compensation analysis. This will allow you to see average total compensation per job profile and level to easily identify any unjustified differences.
From gut feeling to informed decisions
With the job architecture in place, you move from explaining pay gaps after the fact to making conscious decisions about them. You get a foundation to act on instead of relying on a gut feeling. You can compare roles across functional boundaries, identify individuals who stand out in the pay statistics, and confidently answer the question "What is a reasonable offer?" during your next recruitment. This is how we create transparency, clarity, and security in your pay structure together.
