Writing formulas in Flex HRM can sometimes feel like a step into the unknown. It requires knowledge, time and a bit of courage. Soon you will get a new support that makes the job both easier and safer: Flexie can help you create and understand formulas in Payroll and Time.
Describe what you need - Flexie suggests the formula
With the new feature, you can describe in natural language what you want a formula to do, and Flexie will suggest what it might look like. You can also paste a wording directly from a collective agreement and ask Flexie to translate it into a working formula.
Take sick pay from day 15 as an example - a calculation that is often complex and full of conditions. Instead of interpreting the text of the agreement yourself and building the formula from scratch, you can paste the text into Flexie and ask for a formula to apply to the payroll type for sick pay from day 15. You will get a proposal that you can then adjust, copy or use directly.
Two ways to get help
You can access the feature in two ways:
- Via the Flexie chat, just as you already do today when you ask other questions.
- Via a button right next to the formula bar, where you can open a dialog with Flexie without leaving the view you are in.
Flexie also understands the context. For example, if you are in the payroll register, she assumes that it is a payroll formula you want help with, so you do not have to explain the basics every time.
The value for those who work with sets
The feature is particularly useful for those who work in an agency or as a specialist and set up Flex HRM for new companies. Much of the time currently spent interpreting contracts and building formulas can instead be spent on what drives you - creating the right solution for the customer.
Even if you're an administrator, you can benefit from this feature. If you come across an existing formula that you want to understand, or need to adjust, you can ask Flexie to explain or customize it for you.
Coming soon to a system near you
The feature will be launched shortly in Flex HRM. We will come back with more information as it gets closer to release. Already thinking about how you would like to use the formula helper? Get in touch - we're building Flexie with you.
