With the launch of the new mobile app, a new setting is now available in the Time module that gives you control over whether your employees should be able to clock in via the mobile app. The setting is called Allow time clocking in Flex HRM (mobile app) and is found in the Settings for Time clocking in Flex HRM (web).
Background
In the existing mobile app, this was managed through separate authorisation settings. The new mobile app instead follows the same authorisation structure as Flex HRM (web), which means the previous solution is no longer applicable. The new setting therefore replaces the previous way of controlling time clocking in the mobile app.
How the setting works
If the setting is unchecked, the clock button disappears in the mobile app for the affected employees. The setting follows the same hierarchical logic as many other settings in Flex HRM: if it is set on an individual employee, that setting applies. Otherwise, the setting on the time group applies, and lastly the setting at company level.
The default value is checked, meaning time clocking via the mobile app is permitted. You only need to act if you want to restrict this option.
Why is this useful?
If you have time clocks at the workplace and want to ensure that employees clock in there – and not via the mobile app – you can now control this directly in the system.
Getting started
You will find the setting in the Settings for Time clocking in Flex HRM (web) and can configure it at company, time group, or employee level depending on your needs.
