Personnel categories help you keep different collective agreements and groups of employees apart. Over time, however, the list can grow with categories that are no longer used, or that were never relevant to your company. The more categories that remain, the greater the risk of an employee being linked to the wrong category.
You can now deactivate the personnel categories you don't use. They disappear from your everyday choices, but all history is kept.
Easy to deactivate
The personnel category register now has the check box "The personnel category is active". All personnel categories are active by default, so you don't need to do anything until you want to deactivate a category. If the category is still used by an employee who has not been paid their final salary, you will get a warning, so you can see immediately whether anyone is affected.
Fewer choices, less risk of error
An inactive personnel category is hidden everywhere you select a personnel category, for example when you link an employee to a category, in selections for reports and payroll runs, and in the pay code register. If you still want to see your inactive categories, select "Show also inactive staff categories" in the personnel category register.
History is preserved
You can open and save employees who are already on an inactive personnel category as usual. Old payroll runs show the personnel category that applied at the time, and deviations on pay codes are left untouched.
Easier setup of new companies
If you set up a new company by copying the settings from a template company, you can now deactivate the personnel categories the new company doesn't need. This is particularly useful if you work at a payroll service provider and set up many companies.
With the ability to deactivate personnel categories, you as a payroll specialist get a clearer list and a more secure everyday experience in the payroll system, without losing any history.
